Starting in northern Costa Blanca, the Oliva Nova Golf Club occupies 50 hectares to the south of the town of Oliva, itself and offers a 6,944-yard, par 72, course designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The course is easy to walk, but technical in nature, with water hazards on an all but three holes. A three-bedroom villa, sleeping up to eight, in close proximity to the Club de Golf de Bonalba, can typically be secured for

Further south still, towards Torrevieja, the mountainous Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela presents a test for even the most accurate golfer, with rocks, ravines and numerous water hazards to negotiate on its 18-hole, par 72, course. Once again, there is plenty of rental accommodation to choose from in the area, often within 15 minutes` drive of Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela. Two-bedroom apartments, furnished to a high standard, with fully-fitted kitchens, ceiling fans, etc. and access to a swimming pool, are available from as little as
