Property in Valverde is located in the lush Spanish countryside. They are surrounded by agricultural land and has the aura a small, tranquil farming community. It is well connected via transport routes to all the major centres in the Southern Costa Blanca region.
The Costa Blanca, or White Coast, refers to the Mediterranean coastline of the Spanish province of Alicante. The region is characterised by a rugged, mountainous interior and long stretches of pristine, sandy beaches and is one of Spain's most visited areas. The city of Alicante is the capital of the region and a good place to begin your exploration of this beautiful area. Most visitors arrive through Alicante's airport so it is worth spending a night or two here either at the beginning or end of your stay from your property.
There is a lot to see in the Costa Blanca and your choice of activities will depend on how active or relaxing you want your holiday to be. Some of the region's cultural highlights include the World Heritage town of Elche, set inside a huge, green forest of 300,000 thousand palms. A lovely botanical garden and museum in the town provide information about the fascinating background of this ancient Moorish oasis. Culture lovers should also spend some time in Alicante exploring the many museums offering education and information about various aspects of the Costa Blanca's culture and history. Like the rest of Spain, residents of the Costa Blanca celebrate many fiestas throughout the year and if your trip coincides with any of these it is well worth getting involved. A number of `Moros Y Cristianos`, or Moors and Christians, festivals take place at different times in different towns of the Costa Blanca and these provide a fun and interesting insight into the region's colourful history. Some of the best include Villajoyosa`s event in late July and Altea`s version towards the end of September.
Getting to the Costa Blanca is straightforward and inexpensive, with most visitors flying into Alicante. It is easy to explore the region with a rental car or using public transport and your choice of resort will depend on what sort of holiday you are looking for.
